Travel and Transport Announces Promotions and New Executive Hire
While coming off the best sales year in company history and after more than doubling in size over the past five years, Travel and Transport has recently taken steps to expand its management structure to accommodate the tremendous growth of the company.
As was recently announced on January 7, 2014, Chairman and CEO Bill Tech will be retiring at the end of 2014. In addition to naming Kevin O’Malley, President and Tim Fleming Chief Operating Officer, Travel and Transport announced on February 3, 2014 the following managerial changes:
Michael Kubasik has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mike previously served as the company’s Senior Vice President and CIO. Click here for more information on Mike Kubasik.
Kevin O’Malley, Travel and Transport President stated, “We are pleased that Mike will be stepping into this new role. Tim Fleming, Chief Operating Officer, said, “We are thrilled to be able to recognize Nancy Miller and Nancy Rissky for their outstanding work and dedication to our company. Bill Tech, Travel and Transport Chairman and CEO stated, “With our tremendous growth over the past five years, it was imperative that we adjusted our infrastructure to ensure we are well positioned for the future as we focus on our clients and our employee-owners.”
This completes the changes within the company’s senior level officer group who make up the executive committee, which also includes Kevin O’Malley, Tim Fleming, Jim Winterscheid Vice President, Finance and Mike King, Vice President & Corporate Counsel. “We feel we are well positioned for the future and I look forward to what the continuously changing travel landscape will bring to this dynamic company,” Tech said.

Travel and Transport is also excited to announce the hiring of Joel Bailey as Vice President, Customer Solutions. Joel has 20 years of experience in the travel industry. Prior to joining Travel and Transport, he held various product marketing and business development positions at Sabre and most recently worked for Travelocity for Business. Joel also worked in product marketing at IBM.
In this new role at Travel and Transport, Joel will be responsible for providing direction and oversight to the Travel and Transport areas of operations analysis, command center operations, training and development, emergency services, and online fulfillment. His role will be cross-functional in that he will be working with sales, account management, operations, and technology, to identify and implement solutions for the clients’ unique needs as well as initiating operational and customer service enhancements. Joel holds a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
Travel and Transport has also promoted Donna Brokowski to General Manager of Travel and Transport’s Partner Solutions Group as well as promoted Jami Hedrick to General Manager, Account Management.
Formerly serving as Director of Travel and Transport’s Partner Solutions Group, Donna Brokowski will be responsible for the company’s overall strategic growth in corporate consulting services as well as developing partnerships with key travel suppliers in the airline, rental car/ground and hotel sectors. Donna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in speech communications from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, with an emphasis in marketing and public relations.
Jami Hedrick started her travel career with Travel and Transport in 1994, and has gained experience through a wide range of positions including most recently serving as Director of Account Management. In her new role as General Manager of Account Management, Jami will be responsible for the strategy, scope, execution and success of account management activity. Jami will provide direction and mentor a team of account managers, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to deliver travel management expertise and responsive service to each of our corporate clients. Jami holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University and is currently pursuing her Senior Professional in Supply Management (SPSM) certification.
