Hyatt Hotels announced that it will offer complimentary WiFi to all customers at all Hyatt locations worldwide beginning in February, 2015. WiFi service will be accessible both in hotel lobbies and guest rooms.
This change will allow all guests staying at Hyatt Hotels to get connected on an unlimited number of devices. Top members of the Hyatt Gold Passport loyalty program have been able to access free WiFi at Hyatt properties for some time now. Hyatt announced that the program’s Diamond and Platinum members will receive upgraded premium WiFi service where available.
This announcement departs from changes made by other hotel companies in recent months, which only offer free WiFi to loyalty program members booking through direct hotel channels.
“Internet connectivity is no longer an amenity. It has become an integral part of travelers’ daily lives and a basic expectation,” said Kristine Rose, vice president of brands for Hyatt. “Travelers shouldn’t have to remember which brands or locations offer it for free or the strings attached to get it.”
