Heading out on business travel between downtown London and New York? It’s about to get a lot easier: Odyssey Airlines hopes to begin service from London City Airport to NYC in 2016. According to CNN, by flying out of London City, which is closer to the city’s business center than Heathrow or Stansted, travelers can clear security and customers more quickly before walking just a short distance to the gate and board the all-business-class airline. “We are going after the traditional business traveler,” Odyssey CEO Adam Scott told CNN. “We are operating the most fuel-efficient and modern aircraft available.” The carrier launches it will start service with 10 specially outfitted 40-seat Bombardier CSeries aircraft. Here’s the catch: the airline is crowdfunding the initiative. If the carrier launches it will start service with 10 specially outfitted 40-seat Bombardier CSeries aircraft. The total cost to launch the airline is expected to cost about $101 million. Through its crowdfunding, Odyssey hopes to build its customer base and brand loyalty before flights begin. Although ticket prices were not listed, Scott told the source Odyssey will be competitively priced in the market.
