The Farnborough International Airshow was held in Hampshire, England, July 14 through 20. The event is considered to be one of the biggest aviation events in the world.

During the world renowned airshow, the World Airline Awards were handed out after millions of travelers sent in votes.

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific was named the world’s best airline for 2014, the carrier’s first time winning the title since 2009 and taking it from last year’s winner Emirates Airlines.

“I believe that the Cathay Pacific team is the best and it is fantastic to see that our passengers see it the same way,” Cathay Pacific chairman John Slosar said at the airshow. “I would certainly like to congratulate our cabin crew and everyone else in the Cathay Pacific team who make our award-winning service happen each and every day.”
