Travel and Transport Announces Corporate Sales Team Re-organization and New Leadership Roles

May 19, 2014 |

In the wake of a record-setting 2013 sales year and an aggressive start to 2014, Travel and Transport has announced a reorganization of the sales team and a new Director of Sales for the West. This reorganization will include an increase to three Directors of Sales: one to concentrate on the large and global market, one to cover the eastern US market, and one to cover the western US. Each of these individuals will report directly to Penny Watermeier, Travel and Transport’s Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing.

Director of Sales – East

Susan Thomas has been promoted to Director of Sales – East.  Susan will remain in her current territory (Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio) and will support several other sales managers and sales executives in Travel and Transport’s eastern US sales territory.

Director of Sales – West

Mike Lempke will be joining the Travel and Transport team, assuming the role of Director of Sales – West.  Mike will support several Sales Managers in Travel and Transport’s western US sales territory.  Mike has a longstanding relationship with Travel and Transport, serving as United Airlines’ Key Account Manager on the Travel and Transport account from 2004 to 2005 before being promoted to District Sales Manager.  Mike returned to Omaha in 2007 and spent time as a regional sales manager for First National Bank of Omaha. Most recently he was the Senior Director of Business Development for National Research Corporation where he led a team of six business development managers.  Mike holds a BS in Public Administration/Aviation from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Director of Large and Global Markets

Phil Crofton has transitioned to concentrate solely on large-market and global opportunities. With this transition Phil’s sales territory will now span the entire United States.  “We are excited to have the expertise of Phil, Susan, and Mike driving our national and global opportunities”, said Watermeier. “Each will bring a unique outlook on the industry that will keep our sales managers agile and prepared to expand our reach throughout the US as well as globally.”
