The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently unveiled its New Distribution Capability (NDC) program. According to IATA, the program, which defines a new technology standard with which airlines, travel agencies and travel technology providers communicate electronically and market air products, will result in a major transformation in the travel industry. The NDC will change the way that airlines market their products to corporations and travelers. The travel industry-supported program will also resolve the current distribution limitations faced by the industry such as product differentiation, faster product releases, greater access to rich air content and a more transparent shopping experience.
